🧂 Ingredients List

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes (boiled, peeled, and cubed)
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable, sunflower, or coconut)
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1–2 green chilies (slit) or ½ tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

👨‍🍳 How to Make Crispy Potato Fry – Step-by-Step

  1. Boil and Prep the Potatoes
Boil the potatoes until fork-tender but not mushy. Peel and cut them into medium-sized cubes.

  2. Tempering the Spices
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add cumin seeds and sauté for a few seconds.

  3. Add Flavor
Toss in the green chilies (or red chili powder) followed by turmeric. Stir to combine.

  4. Add the Potatoes
Drop in the cubed potatoes. Add salt and coriander powder. Mix to coat the potatoes in the spices.

  5. Fry Until Golden & Crisp
Let the potatoes fry on medium heat for 7–10 minutes. Stir but allow them to sit between flips for that golden crust.

  6. Garnish & Serve
Close the flame. Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice, chapati, or enjoy it as a snack!

💡 tips and variations Additional crisp? Let the potatoes sit in the pan of stirring for a few minutes at a time. Spicier version: Add a pinch of garam masala or chaat masala before stopping the heat. South Indian style: Add some curry leaves and a pinch of Hasfowatida (hing) during the tempering. 🎥 Watch full video tutorial: [Click to see - Crisis Potato Fry Recipe]
